Format and Systems…

I work in black & white and color photography. I use both film and digital camera systems.

Film format is 35mm and 120. Digital mirrorless is full frame.

Genre…

I photograph what draws my attention irrespective of genre.

However, of the genre classifications I suppose I fall into these in one way or another:

  • Landscape/Nature Photography

  • Street Photography

  • Documentary Photography
Specifically, archival of family history by methods of video interview and digital camera scan of old prints and negatives.

History…

My grandmother handed me a Kodak 110 camera when I was 8 years old.

My second camera was Ricoh XR-10.

During middle school, some of my photographs of school events were used by the school.

I setup a darkroom for developing B&W film and printing before I had my drivers license.

I took a photography class in high school.

I bought my first camera, Nikon N2000, on my own by placing it on layaway. It took me 12 months to pay for it.

At this time in my life I wanted to be a photojournalist working for the local city news paper.

Life happens and photography is placed on the back-burner.

In 2002 my fiancee and I purchased a digital point and shoot while in California.

In 2006 my wife gifted me my first digital SLR camera.
